Haumoana Enviroschool

Haumoana School has kicked off the year by engaging with the Enviroschools Kaupapa Ako. A Teacher Only Day session, facilitated by the Napier/Hastings Enviroschool’s facilitator – Helen Howard, marked the beginning of this journey. The session started with a Guiding Principles activity, which helped identify areas of strength and potential growth for the school. Helen then introduced the team to the wealth of resources available on the Enviroschools website, focusing on the 'Me In My Environment' theme. The 'Special Places' activity from this theme area was explored, providing a practical example of how Enviroschools' principles can be applied in the classroom.

The facilitated session provided a valuable opportunity for the team to refocus, delve deeper into the Enviroschools kaupapa, and explore the available resources. Thank you to Liz, Bronwyn, and the Haumoana School teaching team for inviting Helen to support you on your Enviroschools journey.
