This document forms Hawke’s Bay’s Regional Economic Development Strategy and was developed as a refreshed version of the 2007 strategy.
Economic development activity is undertaken by a range of organisations, both public and private. As part of developing this Strategy there was a need to identify what key organisations are doing and what their core competencies are, where the region needs to go, where the gaps are, and how to collaboratively move forward.

This report provides an analysis of the feasibility of protecting the Haumoana
coastline through the construction of a series of groynes. It considers a current
design proposal for these structures, the outcomes of an iterative peer review
process on the engineering feasibility and costs of the proposal, and the findings of a
costâ€benefit analysis of alternatives to arrive at an overall conclusion on project
feasibility, within the national and regional policy context of the sustainable
management of the coast.
