People and Capability Manager

IMG 0139

This new strategic leadership role is designed with a view to creating optimal people and capability structure across our client’s business. You will be reporting to the Chief Executive and working in close partnership with the executive team. There is a real determination here to develop people and culture practices that will result in getting the best out of people across this well-known and highly regarded Hawke’s Bay entity. As their new People and Capability Manager, you will be leading them in this process and pathway.

Your core purpose and focus will hinge around building a clear and determined people and capability strategy. The teams across this organisation work in highly specialised fields and areas of expertise. In addition to ensuring best practice across their people processes and policies, this business wants to be sure they look after their people well, as their engagement and expertise is crucial to their success. The CEO aspires to see optimisation of their learning and development programs and to ensuring their talent recruitment, retention and development programs are in the best shape they can be.

You will have four reporting team members working across the breadth of people and capability and wellbeing, health, & safety portfolios. You will be in the driver’s seat and take the lead on developing capability; spearheading leadership and development programs, whilst keeping the pulse and steering direction around people, and culture.

We are looking for an experienced people and capability leader keen to make an impact across all aspects of the business. You will already be operating at the senior level and need to have led HR teams.  An empathetic and engaged approach will be crucial as you help steer this organisation through a positive period of strategic people and capability development and change.  An affinity and commitment to Māori partnerships, Te Ao Māori and the Treaty of Waitangi is central to an integrated and collaborative culture. Relatability to the planning and approval processes that are required in significant entities will be helpful. Either way, if you have the senior people engagement, planning, and policy expertise and experience, and want to take the lead for this forward focused people and capability centric culture then please apply now.
