Catchment Worker

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Works Group is a standalone business unit wholly owned and operated by the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council.  The Group undertakes a range of activities based mainly around the Region’s rivers and drainage network.  A position has become available working as a catchment worker focusing on the operation of one of Council’s spray tractors based out of Guppy Road, Taradale.

We are seeking a person with a broad range of practical skills who has extensive experience in the operation of agricultural machinery and is competent in the use of agrichemicals.

NZQA qualifications relating to any of the above would be an advantage.

You must hold a clean current Class 1 license, and a current Growsafe certification.

You must have good documentation skills and will need to show an ability to communicate well with a broad spectrum of people including land owners and Council Engineers.  You shall be committed to safe work practices, have a positive attitude to health and safety, and be comfortable working independently, or in a team environment.

A pre-employment drug test is a requirement for this position.
