About the opportunity:

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to partner with the business providing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and internal consultative services to stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will work alongside your colleagues to support our clients ensuring professional financial advice and reporting is provided.  You will be an integral part of the Finance team delivering the Long Term Plans, Annual Plan, Annual Reports and the accounting function supporting the organisation to achieve its outcomes.

The salary range for suitable candidates that meet the requirements for this role is $88,830 - $100,674 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running! Ideally you would have had at least five years accounting experience. You will have great interpersonal skills and thrive in a team environment.

Specialist skills and experience;

• Tertiary Degree in Accounting with Chartered Accountant Qualification or similar preferred.
• In depth understanding of best practice.
• Previous involvement with project delivery advantageous.
• Broad understanding of accounting systems.
• High level of Excel and computer skills.
• A clean full driver’s licence. 
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
