Consents Planner (Vacancy 19-275)

Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. About the opportunity:

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is seeking an enthusiastic, suitably qualified Consents Planner to join our consents team! Reporting to the Team Leader Consents you will be an integral member of our Consents planning team. You will assist the team process resource consents including the plan changes in freshwater management. If you have a relevant experience with a tertiary qualification in planning or resource management we would love to hear from you.

We would also consider a recent graduate and will provide opportunity to learn and develop on the job.  Knowledge and experience in forestry, farm systems, surface and/or ground water resources will be an advantage.

The salary range for this role is $69,210 - $78,438 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

You will have a high familiarity with the Resource Management Act, National Policy Statements, National Environmental Standards and Hawke’s Bay Regional Plans.

You will have;

• A tertiary qualification in Resource Management, Planning or related field.
• High level of Microsoft office and computer skills.
• A clean full driver’s licence. 
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
