Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, a vibrant community and a prosperous economy. 

About the opportunity:

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is looking for an Officer Schemes to add their skills and enthusiasm to the Asset Management Group. Reporting to the Team Leader Schemes the role will focus on managing public access to rivers, river mouth openings, pathways and gravel operations across the Region. You will issue licence to occupy for grazing, gravel and silt extraction and undertake asset lease management. 

The salary range for this position is $74,790 - $84,762 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

You will be a self-starter with experience in community development initiatives with excellent stakeholder relationship skills.

Skills and knowledge:

 A relevant tertiary degree

  • Good understanding of Hawke’s Bay rivers and drainage networks
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of flood management and gravel extraction,
  • Competent in a range of computer applications and Microsoft software.
