Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. About the opportunity:

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant with system implementation experience. Reporting directly to the CFO and working alongside three specialist accountants, the role will lead and deliver the implementation of the HBRC Financial Management System (FMIS) and partner with the business providing professional financial advice.

The implementation of FMIS will be the priority project and central focus of the Management Accountants work programme for the first 12-18months with Council. In this role you will become the expert and champion for the FMIS, providing advice to users and working with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and delivery. Beyond the FMIS project, the role will expand to provide quality accounting, reporting and financial management services to internal stakeholders and clients.

The salary range for this position is $88,830 - $100,674 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running! Ideally you would have had at least five years in the industry with first hand implementation experience.  You will have great interpersonal skills and thrive in a team environment.

Specialist skills and experience;

• Tertiary Degree in Accounting with Chartered Accountant Qualification or similar preferred.
• In depth understanding of best practice.
• Previous system implementation experience.
• Previous involvement with project delivery advantageous.
• Broad understanding of accounting systems.
• An excel superstar.
