We are seeking a versatile person to join the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Compliance Team. As an Environmental Compliance Officer you will undertake monitoring of environmental resource consents issued by the Regional Council including follow up and reporting. On occasion the role will require you to investigate an offence and prepare documentation for enforcement. The role may include an after-hours on call component.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the environmental issues affecting the Hawke’s Bay region and a proven ability to effectively deal with conflict. Relevant experience in resource management, agriculture, horticulture or a related field supported by a science based tertiary qualification and/or previous experience in the enforcement field is desirable.
You will have effective communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
