Flood Modeller (Vacancy 19-203)

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced modeller. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in river management and flood control, land drainage, infrastructure asset management planning, level of service reviews and hydrodynamic modelling relating to the management of water. The applicant will need to be motivated, positive minded and forward thinking.

Experience in writing technical reports is necessary. In addition, knowledge and understanding of gravel management; coastal management and catchment management would be an advantage.

As a key part of the engineering section the successful applicant will assist with asset management planning including the effectiveness and condition of infrastructure assets; river engineering and land drainage projects; hazard management and various planning and policy decisions that relate to asset management functions and Council’s role under various acts and planning functions.
