Following the heavy rain in the region, event organisers of the Triathlon Hawke’s Bay event this Sunday have advised the Harbourmaster that the swim leg will now take place off Westshore Beach.
“People not taking part in the event are asked to give the competitors plenty of room at the beach and the water for their competition,” says Harbourmaster Captain Martin Moore.
The event will be held 6 am to 10am Sunday 20 January.
The swim leg was originally planned for Pandora Pond but heavy rain increases the contaminants in the estuary which can cause health problems.
