Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is seeking applicants for this new organisational leadership role focused on providing high-level advice and support to the Chief Executive and Chair of the Regional Council.

The successful applicant will play a key role in overseeing and driving the performance of this growing and progressive organisation for the benefit of Hawke’s Bay.

The role will be responsible for ensuring there is an effective working relationship between the Chair, Chief Executive, councillors and executive team, based on timely provision of accurate information and high quality advice. The role will involve effectively leading a team of principal advisors and their staff focussed on; governance and council support services, media management, organisational performance monitoring and human resource services and delivery.

Suitable applicants will need a good understanding of the machinery of government. They will need a suitable qualification and be a strong strategic thinker and relationship builder, who readily accepts responsibility and challenge. Experience in leading a high performing team and dealing with a diverse fast-paced role at a senior level will also be required.
