Debtors Officer (Vacancy No 18-917)

Hawkes Bay Regional Council is the regions environmental management and economic development authority. We have a long term focus on the wise use of Hawkes Bay’s natural resources with an aspiration to create a prosperous economy, and a clean and healthy environment.

HBRC is looking for a highly motivated Debtors Officer to join our finance team. As part of the Corporate Services Group, the Finance department conducts many of the Council’s core functions and is the front line service point for many ratepayers.

We are looking for someone with high initiative, and an ability to work in a busy environment. The role of Debtors Officer requires experience with invoicing, debt recovery and reports to Team Leader Finance. You will take full ownership of the role, have excellent customer skills and be able to relate to a wide range of people.

To be considered for this role we are looking for;

• Sound knowledge of the debt recovery process.
• High attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Confidentiality
• Basic accounting/book keeping skills
• Proficient computer and software skills – Microsoft Suite
• At least 3 years finance experience
