We are seeking a versatile person to join us as an Environmental Officer. This position involves dealing with pollution incidents and other reported unauthorised activities affecting the environment. The role includes an after-hours on call component and some monitoring of resource consents.
A good understanding of relevant environmental issues that affect the Hawke’s Bay region and a proven ability to effectively deal with conflict is required.
The successful person should have monitoring experience in resource management or a related field. An ability to establish effective relationships with a wide range of people and organisations is essential. Effective all round communication skills and the ability to manage appropriate computer based applications are also desired attributes.
