Extra goBay buses will be available between Napier and Hastings during this weekend to make it easy for people to travel around for Art Deco Festival.

The timetables for the Route 12 service will stay the same but there will be two buses each trip.

“Travelling by bus for art deco festival is not only a very typical 1930’s thing to do – as few people owned cars back then - but it will also be practical this weekend. Napier streets will be busy, some will be closed, while parking will be scarce, so it could be a better idea to let our drivers chauffeur you in comfort,” says Megan Welsby Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s transport coordinator.

The service particularly suits people wanting to take part in day-time Art Deco Festival events as the buses run between 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 8am to 5 pm on Sunday.

A bus trip between Hastings and Napier costs $4.28 per adult, and $2.14 for a child one way, with a goBay smartcard; or $5.40 per adult, and $3.00 for a child one way, cash. Bus timetable information can be found at www.hbrc.govt.nz.
