Those heading into Napier for Art Deco celebrations this weekend are being urged to take the hassle out of getting there by taking the bus.
The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s public transport service goBay is providing additional bus services on Route 12 between Hastings and Napier, via Taradale, especially for the festival.
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Transport Coordinator, Megan Welsby says buses depart from the Hastings library and travel via Heretaunga Street, the hospital and Pakowhai Road. Once in Taradale they will travel down Gloucester Street, Lee Road and Kennedy Road to drop passengers right in the heart of Napier.
“There will also be buses operating until 10pm on Friday and Saturday of the festival weekend - perfect if you’re planning a night out and don’t want to drive,” says Mrs Welsby.
She says all the information on bus timetables and the additional services on offer are at www.hbrc.govt.nz and search #bustimetables. People can also pick up a timetable at the I-Site or phone 8359200 for more information.
