Contracts Manager (Vacancy No 16-843)

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Works Group, a business unit of Council, is based at Taradale and is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the Contracts Manager’s role vacated recently due to an internal promotion.

The role is responsible for the effective and efficient performance of the Works Group’s responsibilities for rivers and drainage work and other civil engineering projects.  Relevant experience and qualifications are required as is effective project management and job costing skills. Experience managing and working with Quality systems and a proven commitment to Health and Safety management will be an advantage.  

Proven ability to lead a diverse team to achieve a profitable return for the business is important - this will include forging positive relationships with outside agencies and, where relevant, the ability to promote the Works Group for external contracts.  An innovative approach, positive attitude, strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement are key parts of the role.
