Cyclone Gabrielle has had a significant impact on the infrastructure, environment and communities in our region. This is why HBRC is boosting the capacity in its Infrastructure Programme Management Office (IPMO) – a dedicated team of experts who are actively engaged in recovery work – so that we can deliver for our communities and our environment. This work is diverse and interesting, offering a rare opportunity to be part of a flood network redesign for an entire region, work that will continue to unfold over the next ten years. These projects will make a real difference for Hawke’s Bay, being a part of these exciting initiatives will bring you immense job satisfaction and a feeling of true achievement.
This is a 12-month fixed term, full-time opportunity that will require you to be based in Hawke’s Bay as part of a wider delivery team in the IPMO. The Communications Advisor role will focus on providing communications to key internal and external stakeholders to progress these critical projects. This role involves cultivating a thorough understanding of the projects, key stakeholder groups, = addressing specific enquiries, and supporting the Engagement Advisors’ work and broader Comms team. In this role you would also need to assist colleagues involved in the Council flood infrastructure rebuild projects, collaborate with the HBRC corporate communications & engagement team, and work across the organisation to guarantee cohesive communication within and between projects.

The salary range for the Communications Advisor role is between $73,780 to $89,300. This will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
