About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga: 

We have an exciting opening for a Fixed Term (until October 2025) full time human resources practitioner to join our team as a HR Advisor, covering parental leave. This is a diverse role where you will actively partner with our organisation to develop, advise, and support people leaders across the full spectrum of human resources. This fantastic opportunity will allow you to bring your advisory talents and play a key role in optimising Council’s employee experience though supporting workforce performance, enhancing employee engagement, and upskilling and empowering our people. You will work collaboratively across Council to deliver practical HR solutions in an organisation dedicated to the sustainable management of our precious natural resources.

You will bring specialist expertise across key HR functions, including recruitment, people solutions, employment relations, performance management and more! You are a committed professional, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional service and creating positive change. A tertiary degree in HR or a related field and strong knowledge of HR compliance and relevant legislation (e.g., Employment Relations Act) are essential. 

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu: 

The salary range for this role is between $91,890 to $105,061 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. This is a fixed term role covering parental leave and is anticipated to complete in October 2025. This is a highly motivated team that you will be joining, offering an opportunity to experience working within local government and supporting a diverse workforce of talented professionals.
