Labour Weekend Fatigue Stop

RoadSafe Hawke’s Bay will be out and about across Hawke’s Bay this Labour Weekend with our annual Fatigue Stop Checkpoints.

Fatigue is one of the high-risk road safety issues that feature as part of a comprehensive road safety program that we deliver alongside our road safety partners. Look out for us this long October weekend, we’re here with information and giveaways promoting awareness about how fatigue may impact your ability to drive safely on our roads and beyond.

The main Fatigue Stop will be carried out in unison with Eastern Police on State Highway 5, Napier-Taupo Road, at the Mohaka rest stop near the electric vehicle charging station. This will take place 1.30pm – 4.30pm on Friday 20 October, timed to coincide with holiday weekend traffic.

This is our main joint activity, however the police will be doing their routine other checks over the long weekend.

Driving requires us all to be alert and able to react, our key message to everyone is to take a break from driving if you’re tired.

RoadSafe Hawke’s Bay is encouraging road users to slow down and travel at the speed of life.
