Are you passionate about designing and managing cutting-edge technology infrastructure? Do you thrive in a role that combines cloud and on-premise solutions? Hawke's Bay Regional Council is seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Solutions team.

As our Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining our technology landscape.

 

 You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud and on-premise infrastructure
  • Implementing and managing key technologies including VMware, M365, Azure, and VOIP MS Teams Telephony
  • Ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our IT systems
  • Developing and maintaining our infrastructure strategy
  • Managing vendor relationships and optimizing our technology investments
  • Providing technical expertise and support to the wider ICT team and stakeholders
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in our technology use

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a significant impact on our organisation's technological capabilities.

 

About you | E pā ana ki a koe:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role or relevant industry
  • Strong expertise in infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and M365
  • Experience with server hardware/software, storage technologies, and backup solutions
  • A security-focused mindset with knowledge of best practices in cybersecurity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex IT concepts for various audiences
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:

The salary range for this role is between $97,830 and $108,700 will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
