Are you passionate about supporting our regions recovery from Cyclone Gabrielle? Do you have a background in engineering and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Asset Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and actively support our recovery work – so that we can deliver for our communities and our environment with fit for purpose infrastructure. This role is your opportunity to make an active contribution to the rebuild work, contributing towards making our region a better place to live.
This crucial engineering role will see you reviewing designs and consents related to our flood protection infrastructure projects. As a subject matter expert, in our Regional Assets team you will be providing appropriate technical information and advice to other areas of the organisation. The role will be the key point of contact from an internal client lens for the large project work that is being delivered by our Project Management Office (PMO). You will support sign off procedures, respond to requests from our delivery partners, and bring a technical understanding to our flood protection works. This is an exciting opportunity with Council where you will be well supported as part of a passionate team working in a diverse environment.

We need someone with experience who can hit the ground running and help deliver on our busy programme of work. You will be proactive, solutions-focused and have a passion for our environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure, pick up new systems and processes with ease, and juggle multiple tasks + tight deadlines will serve you well in this dynamic workspace. The role requires someone with exception interpersonal skills, effective communication and an ability to tailor their communication style to meet the needs of various audiences.
