About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:
We are looking for a Senior Catchment Advisor to join the Napier based, Central Catchment team. While working closely with other sections and teams across Council, this team is responsible for engaging with catchment communities and groups to understand their needs, identifying current and future challenges, and collaboratively developing sustainable solutions. Their day-to-day work includes promoting and implementing funded programs that contribute to the delivery of catchment outcomes.
The Senior Catchment Advisor – HCE will not only support and contribute to the work undertaken by the rest of the team, but they will also be responsible for ensuring delivery of the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council 2023-2027 Hill Country Erosion Programme Grant Funding Agreement. This involves the successful planning, development, monitoring, and completion of the milestones in the project and integration with the rest of the Integrated Catchment Management Group and the wider council.
This is a fixed term role, expected to end mid-2027.

You will be a passionate and motivated individual who is prepared to hit the ground running in order to make a real difference to our communities. Your strong knowledge of land-based farming systems, soil erosion processes, soil and nutrient management, and sustainable land use initiatives will enable you to work collaboratively with the community to educate and ensure landowners understand industry best practice.

The salary range for this role is between $89,640 to $99,600 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
