About the Opportunity:

The Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) Works Group has an exciting opportunity for an Overseer to join the team and help support and coordinate our Catchment Team based in Taradale. This is a varied and interesting role that will suit someone who enjoys managing a diverse team of people, working in the outdoors, shows a strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace, and who will strive to support a positive team culture. This role is based at the Works Group Depot in Guppy Road, Taradale and is a permanent, fulltime position working 45 hours per week.

About you:

You will be an experienced and motivated individual who can effectively lead, motivate, and coordinate the Taradale Catchment staff on a day-to-day basis. The team undertakes a wide variety of tasks from regional park maintenance, river, stream, and drain maintenance, through to civil construction works. You will be someone who can ensure work activities are planned and completed in a safe, cost effective, professional, and timely manner to meet client expectations.  A focus on Health and Safety is a must in this fast-paced environment, you will be able drive quality and safe work practices to ensure staff are able to go home safe at the end of each day. The role has an administration component so ideally you will be proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite, managing the purchase of materials and services and able to carry out site assessments and associated pricing of works.

You will also have the opportunity to work alongside the Contracts Manager to provide technical advice and support to Council’s team of Asset Management engineers as required

What we offer | Nga huanga mōu:

The salary range for this role is between $90,300 to $100,350 (based on a 45 hour work week) and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
