About the Opportunity| Ko te āheinga:
We are looking for a Scientist – Land to join the Marine, Air and Land Science Team in our Environmental Science Section. The team is part of the Integrated Catchment Management Group and works collaboratively to deliver the science that supports the functions of the group and the Council’s management of regional resources.
The role of Scientist Land will have you designing and implementing programmes aimed at increasing our understanding of our land resources, and how people and climate change will affect these resources into the future. You will undertake technical analysis of the information you gather and prepare reports on what your analysis reveals. Your insights will help provide strategic direction - to the management of land activities that impact terrestrial, freshwater, marine and air environments in Hawke’s Bay. -In addition, as the Scientist Land you will ensure scientific analysis is accurate, timely and presented appropriately.

You will have a thorough understanding of environmental processes, erosion processes, soil quality and the impact land use may have on our freshwater, coastal and marine environments along with the ability to develop an integrated approach to environmental management at HBRC.

The salary range for this role is between $87,383 to $97,200 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We will also provide support with relocation costs for people moving from outside the region.
