About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga:
This is an exciting opportunity for a coastal expert to join our Engineering team. As part of the wider Asset Management group, this crucial role plays an active part in managing complex engineering processes and supporting our multi-disciplinary team to achieve positive environmental outcomes for the Hawke’s Bay region. You will be kept busy managing projects, providing expert advice, and proactively engaging with stakeholders both internal and external. There is a focus on technical expertise and advice in the area of coastal, and river engineering so your subject matter knowledge will be put to good use. You will be a key player in projects associated with the mitigation of risks associated with natural hazards, including but not limited to coastal erosion.

You will be a motivated team member, with an interest in our local environment and an understanding of its relevant hazards/areas of concern. Alongside this you will have a passion for sharing knowledge, reviewing the work of your peers, supporting their growth and development with coaching and mentoring. A positive attitude will take you far in this productive and engaged team who enjoy working collaboratively on a diverse range of projects.
It will be essential that you have a proven ability to effectively gather multiple sources of information and apply technical and analytical skills to make effective decisions.
