Governance Administration Assistant (Vacancy No 16-829)

Would you like to work at the heart of Council  in a busy, dynamic and challenging role?

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and well organised person to provide comprehensive governance support to Council and its Committees. 

Reporting to the Governance and Administration Manager, this is a key role within the Corporate Support Team that requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion.   Ideally, you will need to have proven experience in local government governance, together with a good understanding of local government legislation and standing orders.   The ability to form strong working relationships with elected representatives, managers and staff will be a key to your success, together with a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain concentration and composure for lengthy periods as you deliver a full range of committee support services to Council.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, together with advanced MS Office skills, an attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines are essential for this role.   Experience with InfoCouncil agenda management software would be an advantage but not essential.
