At Hawke’s Bay Regional Council our purpose is to work with our community to protect and manage the region’s precious taonga of rivers, lakes, soils, air, coast and biodiversity for health, wellbeing and connectivity. Our structure comprises of six key business units; Corporate Services, Integrated Catchment Management, Asset Management, Māori Partnerships, Policy & Regulation, and the Executive Advisory Group which also consists of the Civil Defence and Emergency Management.
About the Opportunity:
This is an exciting new role for HBRC!
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join the Finance team and provide professional direction and leadership for the rates, accounts payable and receivable, debtor collection and banking areas of the business. This role will work alongside other senior Finance roles creating a Senior Advisory Team, providing support and advice to the Executive Leadership Team.
Additionally, this will be a key role overseeing the Council’s Revenue and Financing Policy and advising senior management and Council on the related complex statutory policy requirements.
About you:
The ‘fit’ in the Finance team is important. You will be an engaged Manager, bringing with you strong leadership skills and be an excellent communicator with the ability to connect with key stake holders across HBRC. You will hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification and have a minimum of 5 to 10 years Local Government/Policy and accounting experience.
