Policy & Planning Coordinator [fixed term]

About the Opportunity:

Team Vision: Delivery of high-quality plans and policies which enhance our environment, while providing for the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of the community, now and into the future.

Based in Napier and reporting to the Manager Policy and Planning, you will be part of a growing team of professional policy planning experts. The role will see you supporting projects, working closely with other members of the Policy and Planning team, and utilising your excellent inter-personal skills and communication to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes. We need an administrative superstar with experience in the administration of contracts and invoicing to support our team to achieve some big goals in the coming 12 months.

One of the key focuses of the role will be the provision of first-class support to the team, actively supporting plan development processes and enabling the wider team to successfully meet project milestones and legislative requirements. You will need to liaise with our internal Marketing and Communications team to achieve the key objectives of the role, which are to:

  • Support the Policy & Planning team with digital engagement and website communications.
  • Support planning processes through functions such as engagement, events and consultation.
  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support and advice to the team.
  • Ensure high quality customer service is provided to our community customers, groups, and contacts.

About you:

You will be someone who consistently produces quality work that you take pride in and enjoy being an active member of the team. Strong administration skills will be vital in this role, and ideally you will be computer savvy, especially in the digital space, with a high level of competency across multiple engagement platforms.

Alongside this we need you to demonstrate:

  • Self-motivation with a can-do attitude
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • An ability to cope with a variety of work under pressure
