At Hawke’s Bay Regional Council our purpose is to work with our community to protect and manage the region’s precious taonga of rivers, lakes, soils, air, coast and biodiversity for health, wellbeing and connectivity. Our organisation is diverse and our work is varied. Our structure comprises of six key business units; Corporate Services, Integrated Catchment Management, Asset Management, Māori Partnerships, Policy & Regulation, and the Executive Advisory Group which also consists of the Civil Defence and Emergency Management.

 

About the Opportunities:

HBRC has a range of exciting opportunities for skilled individuals to join our Information and Communications Technology team. We are looking for expressions of interest from project managers, business analysts and application specialists to come on board and support the successful and timely delivery of ICT projects to our organisation. The key purpose of these roles will be to work collaboratively to support the modernisation of our technology platforms across the organisation.

Our focus is on finding the right people for the right roles that fit with what you as an individual can bring to our team. We have a variety of positions to fill, both full-time and part-time. There is a combination of fixed-term and permanent positions on offer, depending on the specific role and the individual applicant.

 

General role requirements:

There are a range of roles available, to build a team that can:

  • Prepare business cases to scope IT projects, define requirements and potential benefits, outline options for achieving these benefits through the development of new or adapted processes, and successfully implement new technologies.
  • Produce documentation such as: requirements documentation, functional specifications, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, testing plans, and scripts.
  • Plan and complete the delivery of a range of projects to implement new IT solutions and business process improvements. Ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained.
  • Configure software solutions to meet requirements and find alternative solutions for the remainder.
  • Analyse, manipulate and transform contact, address and spatial data.
  • Integrate new technologies with existing systems.

 

About you:

You'll need a 'can do' attitude and be able to hit the ground running, along with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong work ethic and a collaborative approach to achieving outcomes.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced and changeable environment.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and co-ordinate work to ensure that goals are achieved with the highest quality of work possible within agreed timeframes.
  • An excellent standard of written and verbal communication that enables you to effectively convey technical information to end users.

 

The salary range will depend on the specific role, as well as the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.
