Magic Beans, a local start up facilitating food-sharing from local ‘Beanies’ gardens, is a finalist in the NZ Gardener of the Year awards.
Regional Business Partners Innovation Specialist, Jenny Brown, says Magic Beans is a moneyless sharing platform to reduce food waste in Hawke’s Bay.
“Magic Beans is a great online community of thousands of Hawke’s Bay ‘Beanies’ who grow and share food from their own gardens with those in their communities. Its aim is to reduce food waste, increase community sharing and resilience, and build community.”
“As the only Hawke’s Bay finalist in the NZ Gardener of the Year award, Magic Beans needs your vote," she says.

The Regional Council holds the contract for Regional Business Partners in Hawke’s Bay to help local businesses grow and thrive. Callaghan Innovation is working with Magic Beans to turn it into a commercial offering with sponsorship and subscription offering.
