At Hawke’s Bay Regional Council our purpose is to work with our community to protect and manage the region’s precious taonga of rivers, lakes, soils, air, coast and biodiversity for health, wellbeing and connectivity. Our organisation is diverse and our work is varied. Our structure comprises of six key business units; Corporate Services, Integrated Catchment Management, Asset Management, Māori Partnerships, Policy & Regulation, and the Executive Advisory Group which also consists of the Civil Defence and Emergency Management.
About the Opportunity:
To support significant growth across the organisation, we have an exciting opportunity for two Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisors with a passion for health, safety and wellbeing, to promote and embed a strong HS&W culture across the Council. The roles will support the achievement of our health, safety and wellbeing objectives along with ensuring legislative compliance so that all our staff get home to their loved ones safely.
A breadth of knowledge across the full spectrum of HS&W is required, enabling our HS&W Advisors to ‘get the job done’ along with the ability to educate, coach and continuously look for improvement opportunities ensuring all risks are identified and managed along the way.
About you:
We’re looking for results-driven people to join a busy, supportive team with lots of initiatives on the go. And while we take our work seriously, we like to have a bit of fun while we’re at it. You’ll take pride in your work, will ooze genuine enthusiasm and energy and building strong relationships will be second nature to you. You will be confident to be decisive and assertive when necessary, be flexible and innovative, and have the ability to translate policies and procedures to palatable reports/documents/comms, depending on the target audience.
