These dashboards are a tool for landowners and the community to understand water quality and ecosystem health within their sub-catchment. You can use this information to guide and inform plans and on-farm practices, to improve water quality outcomes in your area.
The TANK catchments are: the Tūtaekurī, Ahuriri, Ngaruroro and Karamū catchments. This group of catchments is also called the Heretaunga and Ahuriri catchments. The TANK catchments are home to around 85% of Hawke’s Bay’s population. You can learn more about these catchments here or below.
These dashboards have been developed to help landowners in the TANK Catchments understand the ecosystem health of their sub-catchment.
The map below shows the water quality at our water quality monitoring sites across the TANK catchments, from the mountains to the sea. Each segment of the icons represents a different element of water quality. Use the key to interpret the colours, or click on the icons to see the information in more detail.
We have created specific dashboards for each sub-catchment in the TANK catchment. Use the map below to identify your sub-catchment, within the wider TANK catchment. Follow the link to see your sub-catchment water quality dashboard, which will have more information about water quality in your area. You can learn more about each of the aspects of water quality on this page too.
Check back on your sub-catchment dashboard regularly. Water quality data is updated annually in August, and additional information about other aspects of your area will be added over time. You can find your sub-catchment dashboard in the following ways:
