Latest update - September 2024

The project team is shortly starting works around the Ohiwia Stream. We are looking at maintenance and erosion protection works, including the removal of debris and weeds, and building erosion protection methods like rock revetment (structures that stabilise or protect banks from erosion). We’re also going to remove around 12,000 cubic metres of silt.

Enabling works (work to prepare sites for main construction) will also start shortly. These works include building a haul road, material removal (e.g. sediment) from Ohiwia Stream around the bridge, and the transporting of the extracted material via the haul road to a temporary storage site.

Once we have confirmed details and timelines for the works, we will update you.
