Hawke’s Bay Regional Public Transport Plan 2025-2035 Eke waka

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is responsible for planning and administering public bus and Total Mobility services.

About the engagement

The Hawke’s Bay Regional Public Transport Plan guides the design, policies, and delivery of these services. The plan covers the Hawke’s Bay region, primarily the main urban areas where most people live and work, and where essential services are located.

This plan notes changes to implementation of new bus routes. This network is still in draft form and we would like your thoughts on whether it will work for you and your community. This page shows the envisaged network and allows you to make comment on the proposed routes.

We also want your feedback on whether we should retain cash payments or move to a fully cashless fare system as we implement the National Ticketing System in late 2025/early 2026.

Our Total Mobility Scheme is also facing growing demand. We are proposing to make several changes to ensure it continues to meet user needs and is financially sustainable.
