This data is the property of Poukawa Research Farm.
Since 1999, On-Farm Research have collected resident hill country pasture data across the same three paddocks.
This data is from harvested pasture and is not a derived growth that is used by livestock which is a method of recording pasture production used in some farm modelling and decision support tools.

Data is collected at the end of each month from cage cuts and oven dry matters and we aim to have this data loaded within a week.
Additional data is also being collected on newly sown ryegrass/clover, plantain/clover and diverse species mixtures from 12 paddocks.
This data is specific to the Poukawa site which receives an average rainfall of 750 mm. The data is of total dry matter grown, not how much is utilised or harvested by animals (typically only 80 percent of pasture grown is consumed by livestock). While all care has been taken in the data collection, persons using it do so at their own risk.
Thank you to the On-Farm Research staff who have collected this data over many years. This dataset is now collected and provided as part of the Evaluating regenerative farming principles and developing farmer resilience project. Project supporters are
