Accredited Meter Installation and Verification Companies

Companies who have obtained Blue Tick Accreditation remain Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Approved Installers and Verifiers.

HBRC has been working with other councils around the country and with Irrigation New Zealand (INZ) to ensure national consistency with the Water Meter Regulations. By using a Blue Tick Accredited company to undertake your work, you will know that they are aware of the rules and regulations that they must comply with on your behalf.

Where water measuring devices do not meet HBRC’s approved devices criteria or are not installed by an approved installer, a full compliance audit will be undertaken. The cost associated with this for the 2015-2016 financial year is $385+GST.

Telemetry

Telemetry provides an economical and efficient method to access remote data instantly, saving time and costs by eliminating manual data collection, and assisting with reporting water use to council.

Monitoring of water use is one function of telemetry and the Regional Council is encouraging users to fully utilize telemetry, by also monitoring soil moisture, weather, pump status, volumes and rate. Most service providers have systems that are able to send text and email alarms when you are close to or are breaching your consented limits. To find the best provider for you, make sure that you talk to several companies before making a decision. Buying the cheapest telemetry is not always the best solution, as you may later want to add on the extra monitoring features.
