The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is responsible for the region's strategic planning, infrastructure, services and natural resource management ensuring the region and environment is managed effectively for current and future generations.

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is embarking on significant new initiatives to improve environmental outcomes in the Hawke’s Bay region.  To strengthen the organisation’s capability in project management, we are employing two new project managers within a newly formed Strategy and Project team. 

As a Senior Project Manager in the Strategic Planning Group, you will enjoy a varied role that contributes to strategic thinking, how council can work with others and align its various activities and functions to respond to challenges and opportunities. Depending on your experience, you will deliver a mix of internally and externally facing projects of different sizes. You will also champion the implementation of a consistent project management methodology across Council.

We are looking for an agile, strategic thinker, with proven project or programme management experience. You will have a relevant professional qualification and at least seven years’ proven experience working in a corporate planning/project management role with the ability to both scope a project and then focus on delivering it.  You will have proven relationship building skills, the ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguity, complexity and work in a political environment.

Ideally, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a high level of experience and expertise, however we also have a Project Manager role available for quality candidates with less experience.
