The Hawke’s Bay Emergency Management Group is a cooperative of all of the councils in Hawke’s Bay.  Our role is to jointly deliver civil defence emergency management across Hawke’s Bay.  The Group office is staffed by a small group of multidisciplinary emergency management professionals who work across Hawke’s Bay.  While we each have our specialities we work across the four goals of comprehensive emergency management being reduction, readiness, response and recovery.  We want to increase the capability of this team to help deliver improved civil defence emergency management across the Hawke’s Bay community. 

In this Team Leader role, we are looking for a positive minded person to lead a small team of emergency management advisors delivering and coordinating community resilience and education projects.

The key focus of the team is working with communities to build their own resilience to face the risks they may face.

You will need proven leadership experience, a relevant qualification and significant relevant experience in community development/planning and/or building community resilience. An ability to persuade and influence is important, as is a commitment to building a strong and effective team.

A good knowledge of civil defence emergency management would be an advantage. You will need to be calm in a crisis and an ability to deliver to expectations.
