The following providers have so far been approved by HBRC to develop Farm Plans. They have demonstrated to HBRC that they can meet the necessary requirements and receive training from HBRC to ensure our standards continue to be met. Each provider comes from a different background and you can chose who best suits your needs.

Leander is a horticultural consultant at AgFirst. She specifically focusses on environmental management in horticultural properties and has experience with the Tukituki, TANK catchments and Horizons Region plan changes. She enjoys getting out meeting growers, and especially enjoys when she can help them understand how a mitigation can reduce their environmental impact and increase the long term economic viability of their business.

Briar is part of the Waipukurau-based Soter Rural Compliance team. Soter gives farms a local, practical, cost effective and HBRC Approved option for their Farm Environmental Management Plans. Prior to joining the Soter team, Briar worked as a shepherd on high country stations in the South Island.

Colin is a senior consultant at Opus Rural who is highly experienced in land management and farm planning. Colin’s focus is working with landowners to produce prioritised and flexible plans that meet Council requirements, while providing landowners with a level of choice and control. Colin is the Principal Consultant-Environmental at Ravensdown. Colin grew up and still lives in rural Hawke’s Bay and believes that understanding farming and farmers is the key to helping them adjust to environmental regulations. Courtney is originally from a sheep and beef farming background in the Manawatu which has instilled her passion for the agricultural sector. GoodmanRural provides independent advice in farm resource management and finance therefore undertaking assignments in the development of farm environmental plans is a natural extension. We will work with you to quickly develop a plan that fits your unique situation and farm requirements.
Industry Groups are also playing a role in trying to help their levy payers meets the requirements around FEMPs by providing templates that can be used to help prepare a farm plan. This provides a lower (not no) cost option for completing an FEMP. This process is not appropriate for all types of farming operations, but if you are interested in exploring this option, please ring the contacts below to discuss it. Please note that for an FEMP to be acceptable to HBRC, a suitably qualified rural professional must visit your farm and confirm that your FEMP is fit for purpose. There is likely to be a cost associated with this.
