Pōrongahau

Latest update

Two community meetings were held in Pōrangahau in late April, which were very well attended. These meetings have enabled the community to have their say on the proposed solutions.

The project team is working through the planning stage activities, which include discussions with landowners, community consultation, concept design and preliminary site investigations.

About the Pōrangahau project

The solutions being considered and developed include a stopbank and the raising of some properties. This work will ensure that Pōrangahau’s Category 2A properties can move to Category 2C, followed by a move to Category 1.
