Regional Cycling Plan

A draft plan has been prepared working with councils and agencies across Hawke’s Bay to promote an integrated approach to our walking and cycling network.

Regional Cycling Plan

The Regional Council has been working to deliver a Regional Cycling Plan since 2013.

With a focus on health, liveability and tourism, it also aims to maximise the economic benefits that return from each of these areas. Through integrated planning, the councils and support agencies across Hawke’s Bay continue to develop and deliver a top-quality experience for walkers and cyclists, while developing uptake programmes to increase the confidence of young people and generate related employment opportunities.

Maximising the Return Workshop

Back in May 2013, Local Government leaders from the five Hawke’s Bay councils held a workshop to discuss maximising the economic and social return on our current and future walking and cycling investment.

The workshop featured presentations from three keynote speakers, which are featured here.
